MEET THE TEAM
J. Scott Jones – President
Scott has over 35 years of tax and accounting experience in both the public and private sectors. His services extend primarily to small businesses, their owners, and individual tax clients. His public accounting expertise includes tax preparation for: Corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, not-for-profits, and individuals. In addition, he has experience in audits of small businesses, financial statement preparation, and business planning. Scott has become a local fixture in the community. In the past, he has served as an advisor to the board of directors of the Franklin Boys and Girls Club. He received the Franklin Chamber of Commerce’s Youth Service Award for his countless hours of volunteer service. Scott is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Indiana CPA Society, CPA America International and Franklin Elks Lodge #1818. Scott earned his BS Accounting degree from Saint Joseph’s College and is a Certified Public Accountant.
C. Allen Anderson – Partner
Allen is a seasoned CPA with over 41 years of experience. He provides a broad array of services to his clients and has honed his skills in: Tax preparation, tax planning, financial statement preparation, performance of audits and reviews, as well as general business consulting. Allen is an active member of the community and has devoted his entire career to public accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Indiana CPA Society, Franklin Rotary Club, Scottish Rite and the Masonic Lodge. He has also been awarded the Rotary Paul Harris Fellow and Franklin Chamber of Commerce Citizen of The Year. Allen earned his BS Accounting degree from Ball State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Roger Fromer – Manager of the Columbus, Indiana office
He has 30 years of experience in public accounting and 6 years of experience as a chief financial officer for a central Indiana Manufacturer. Roger’s background is primarily in accounting and tax, with an emphasis on providing tax and business planning and consulting to closely held and family-owned businesses. He has worked with numerous clients in the Columbus, Seymour and North Vernon area during his career. His clients have been operating in manufacturing, warehousing, trucking, retail and service industries. Roger’s focus has always been working directly with clients to solve problems and provide recommendations and opportunities to maximize the talent in the client’s organization.
Throughout the years Roger has been elected to the Clay Township Advisory Board and served on the Board of Directors of the Alzheimer’s Association, Red Cross and Mid-Hoosier Officials Association. He is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and AICPA.
Jay Goad, CPA
Jay returns to public accounting after 30 years in Corporate Finance, as a Controller and Chief Financial Officer in the automotive aftermarket industry and construction material supply industry. His vast industry experience brings a wealth of opportunities for meeting our clients’ business needs.
He is a graduate of the Scott College of Business at Indiana State University.
Jay has been active in the Franklin Community in both educational and community development. In the past, he has served on the Franklin Redevelopment Commission, Leadership Johnson County Board of Trustees, and Community Involvement in Learning. Giving back to his Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity has been important to Jay, as he chaired the fundraising efforts for Theta Omicron’s Housing Construction for its new fraternity house.
Jay’s current community involvement includes serving on the Johnson County Community Foundation Board, Leadership Johnson County Board of Advisors, Franklin Education Foundation, and serving as a mentor in the Franklin Scholars Mentor Program. In addition, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Indiana CPA Society, and The Benevolent & Protective Order of the Elks-Lodge 1818.
Carolyn King – Senior Staff Accountant
Carolyn has over 26 years of experience in public accounting. She specializes in tax preparation for corporate, partnership, fiduciary and non-profit organizations, along with business accounting write-ups. She plays a key role in organizing and preparing exceptional accounting products and services for our clients. Carolyn and her family are devoted members of the farming community. Carolyn earned a Bachelor’s degree in Math from Franklin College.
Susan Spain – Associate
Susan joined the firm in 2008, bringing with her a wealth of experience. Susan specializes in client bookkeeping and account write-ups, along with individual and personal property tax preparation. She has been instrumental in the continued growth and development of Jones & Anderson. Susan is an active member of her church and enjoys working with the youth of the congregation.
Beth Ann Mensing
Beth Ann joined the firm in 2012 as a staff accountant. She specializes in tax preparation, financial statement preparation, heads up the firm’s Client Portal software for both business and individual clients and is the Manager for the firm’s payroll services division. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and her Master of Professional Accounting degree from Butler University. Beth Ann is currently working towards obtaining her CPA license.
She attends First Presbyterian Church of Franklin and has been a member of the budget and stewardship committee for several years.
Since joining the Firm in August 2013, her roles have ranged from overseeing all facets of the payroll department, management of all administrative functions within the Firm and most recently providing assistance within the Attest department. She graduated from Indiana University Kelley School of Business with a B.S. Degree in Finance-Real Estate. In the past, she has served on the Johnson County 4-H Council and is currently a 4-H Leader.
Ginger Hunter – Front Office Administrator/Payroll Specialist
Ginger joined the firm permanently in January 2014. She is the first person you will speak to when you call or come into the office! She assists in our payroll department by entering the live and after-the-fact payroll information. We keep her very busy during tax season. She is our go-to person when it comes to scheduling appointments, electronically filing tax returns, printing tax returns and getting returns out the door.
Lisa joined the firm in February 2019 as Director of Operations and Marketing. Within this role she assists and manages all internal business affairs of the firm, including finances and marketing. Her background is extensive within the commercial lending industry with her most recent post as Vice-President, Commercial Loan Officer the past 14 years. Prior to commercial lending, Lisa served several years in mortgage lending starting as a processor, to originator, to owning/managing a mortgage brokerage firm and bank mortgage loan officer.
She is also an important leader within our community with several current involvements including Board of Works member for the City of Franklin; Leadership Johnson County Advisory board member; Franklin Elks Lodge 1818 member; Kappa Kappa Sigma (Upsilon Chapter) sorority member; and Business Exchange team member. In the Spring of 2018, she was featured in the Southside Business Exchange – Women in Leadership.
Previously, she served on the FDC Board; helped organize several Women Builds for Habitat for Humanity of Johnson County; served on the Franklin Chamber of Commerce Board; and Boys & Girls Club of Franklin board member/treasurer.
